Wow

It's always a treat to go to the Microsoft Store in Redmond.  Employees can get serious price discounts, so I've managed to buy things like Flight Simulator for like ten bucks. Great deal but This guy apparently didn't know when to quit.. [Fucked Company]

99 bottles of beer on the wall

I'm working on a little compiler project and last night the interpreted version went basically feature complete (at 1am when I figured out why I/O wasn't working properly).  I can now run "99 bottles of beer on the wall", compute primes, and calculate pi, but the interpreter still breaks at some other tasks.  Once I iron out those bugs I think it will be on to System.Reflection.Emit to actually compile assemblies.  Hopefully System.Reflection.Emit will work for me; if not I will have to send nasty notes to the responsible Program Manager at Microsoft.

Managed Space: Coming soon to a newsstand near you

I recently signed up with .NET Developers Journal as a contributing editor.  The "contributing" part means I'll be writing a column titled (what else?) "Managed Space", which will first appear in the February issue, and then every other month or so after that.  The first column (on managed code portability) is already written and should appear soon.  I have some ideas for the future but am open to suggestions too. The "editor" part means I try to con my friends into writing for the magazine too, so here's the obligatory come-on - if you have a .NET topic to write about and would like to see it in print let me know.
